Whether it's via ticket sales (often with excellent concession rates to take advantage of), organised large-scale events or fundraising schemes, our main focus is to raise as much money as possible to help our children have even more fun during their time at school.  There's always a fundraising project on the go and every single penny of profits gets ploughed straight back into the school.

Here's a review of our main fundraising activities.

Bag2school

Bag2School was founded in 2001 and now works with over 20,000 schools in organising textile collections to raise money for PTAs and clubs.  The scheme encourages staff, pupils and parents to participate, producing maximum rewards with little effort.

Bag2School specialise in collecting unwanted textiles in good condition which are then sold to export markets worldwide where they are sorted and then sold to the general public.

About once a term we ask all families to donate any unwanted clothes in good condition.  Bag2School then collect all donations and in return pay the Marian Vian PTA depending on the weight of the collection.  The more they weigh the more they pay!

Supporting Bag2School is an incredibly easy yet profitable way to support our fundraising activities.

Uniform Sales

The PTA operates a branded uniform purchasing service in partnership with our approved uniform provider.  Orders are placed and we earn a commission based on order volume.

Order your uniform through the PTA and your child will look super smart and be benefitting the PTA at the same time!

Second Hand Uniform

The PTA operates a second hand uniform service.  Previously used uniform (in good condition) is donated and we then sell donations at an incredibly reasonable cost.  Most items are only £1!

P.E. kits as well as winter and summer uniforms for both boys and girls are in plentiful supply.  We have a stall at the Summer and Christmas fairs and open our 'shop' on Friday afternoons at the school.  Contact Sam or Liesl to request an item (their contact details can be obtained from the school office).

Donating or purchasing second hand uniform items delivers 100% profit to the PTA and is a great way to support us.

FAIRS - Christmas, Easter and Summer

These are our flagship events and take the most manpower.  The committee often break into 'sub teams' to organise these events.  Each fair is held annually and together produce well over half of our annual funds raised.  The whole school gets involved.  Each class mans a stall and on the big day there's a tremendous buzz about the place.  Shopping stalls, food and refreshments, games, live music, face painting, magic shows, traditional fairground attractions and sporting activities are all regular fixtures at our annual fairs.

Supporting the PTA fairs will put a smile on you and your children's faces - guaranteed!  A real family affair, there's something for everyone and it's a great way to have some fun and give something back to the school community.

Valentine's Disco

A favourite with the kids, in February each year we hire a DJ and host a disco for each year group from Year 1 upwards.  We charge for each ticket and it's a great way for the children to let their hair down and practise their moves with their friends!

It's a large event for us and raises a brilliant amount - all of which is ploughed straight back into the school.

Magic Shows

We host an annual magic show for our Reception children.  It's a gentle event yet allows the children to spend time together out of the classroom in a social setting where they have a huge amount of fun.   They can be heard howling with laughter from the bottom of Shirley Crescent.  The magic show is always a well-supported event and the kids love it.

Circus

This is a bi-annual event held in June.  The acclaimed 'Happy Circus' come and pitch their big top in the grounds of the school and put on a traditional circus.  It's a unique way for us to really make the most of the wonderful space we enjoy at the school.  The show caters for up to 2,500 with all ages crying with laughter and gasping with delight.

Pantomime

Each year we sell tickets to the annual pantomime.  We usually pair up with Croydon's Fairfield Hall production with memorable shows of Peter Pan and Cinderella over the last few years.  We enjoy concession prices, normally get an excellent date and enjoy the opportunity to kick of the festive season in a truly magical way.

Christmas Cards

Each year the children have their festive drawings professionally reproduced as high quality Christmas Cards at very realistic prices.  The PTA raise funds by collecting a percentage of each pack purchased.

Ordering Christmas cards is an extremely easy yet profitable way to support the PTA.
