I started as a Parent Governor at Marian Vian in 2009 and converted to a Trust Governor when both my children had left the school. I am employed by a Lloyd's Syndicate as a Casualty Underwriter and still live locally in West Wickham.

 I retired in 2009 from my role as School Business Manager and Clerk to the Board of Governors at Malcolm Primary school in Penge. After retirement I became a tutor on the blended learning qualification for SBMs for 4 years. Prior to my appointment as SBM I spent many happy years as a governor at Wickham Common Primary School.

I have been a governor at Marian Vian Primary School since 2017. It is a rewarding role which I really enjoy and hope to continue for many years. I am very proud of being a governor at Marian Vian  and love being involved in as many of the activities in the school as possible., although this has been severely restricted over the past two years. Prior to Covid I tried to visit the school during term time at least once a year which gave me an insight into the education of our young people.

Having been class parent rep for 3 years, I wanted to further my involvement with Marian Vian to help the school provide the best education and experience for its pupils. I became a Parent Governor in 2020 and have immensely enjoyed working with the school to fulfil its potential and maintain its high standards. My background is in Market Research and I believe my experience will aid me in asking the relevant and sometimes challenging questions to the School Leadership Team to achieve this.
